The MTS classic chuck
Like all EROWA workholding systems, the MTS will open under pressure only. The holding mechanism is spring powered and self locking. Via the locking ring the locking balls are forced inward against the chucking spigot, the resulting downforce positions the chucking spigot in its slot and forces the pallet onto the Z-reference surface.
The result is a stable and precise connection between chuck and pallet. It can only be unlocked by applying pressure.
TheMTS+ chuck
Basically the MTS+ (read: MTS plus) tooling system works in the well proven EROWA technology.
The most important advantages of the redesing include:
- More stability because of the special slider locking feature
- Complete control on the chuck situation
- Two airconnections only for all functions
- Completely stainless components
- Increased precision
- Extended life expectation because of fully sealed casing
- Increased clamping force
